~ John Larsen's 55 Chevy Gasser ~

I'm looking for a 1955 Chevy 2dr sedan. It was my fathers, John Larsen, car. He built the car, and raced it at a few strips in Michigan. M37 Dragway in Brohman Mi. was his home track, he also raced it at Central Michigan Dragway in Mc Bride/Stanton Mi., at Manistee County Dragway, I believe that was in Kaleva Mi., and at Grattan Dragway in Grattan Mi. He raced the car from 1970-1972. He was living in Brohman Mi. when he sold the car. We believe it was in 1973 when he sold it.

The car had a steel tilt front end, Chevy van straight axle, radiused rear wheel wells. It was powered by a 327 cu. in. 375HP small block with no set back, had a four speed manual trans and stock 55 rear axle with 5:38 gears. The car ran in the D/Gas class. The car was painted a Light Iris Metallic with a Madeira Maroon outline around the bottom edge of the body and outlining the roof. One distinctive part on the car was a huge STP oval decal that was on the trunk lid. It is not on the car in the pictures, it was added later and we cannot find any more pictures of the car. The windows were also tinted a rose color. If anyone has any info or pictures of the car, please contact Al Larsen at w_o_t_speedshop@yahoo.com or larsen@triton.net Thank you.
