Byron:
Project Gassermadness is painted, lettered, and was raced this last
weekend at the ANRA meet at Famoso.
We're planning to dial in for C/Gas, and hopefully race at the Hot
Rod Reunion 07.
Randy Foster is the driver. Randy is the brother of Art Foster, crew
chief and engine builder. Ralph Foster is another brother and member
of the crew along with myself.
We made it through the first round of eliminations with a 9:62 on a
9:60 breakout for C/Gas, but lost in the second round. There are
were some dead on racers clocking 9:60 and 9:61 times, so we're in a
very competitive ANRA bracket.
Art Foster, Chuck Finders, and Larry Sikora are credited on the car.
In addition, George Wuethrich of Lightning Auto Body in Santa Maria
was crucial for his body work and fabricating the bed. Troy Stacy of
S&S Fabrications in Pumpkin Center built the headers, plus
fabricated the interior, and the fuel tank. Gil, Jaime, and Randy
Muro of Hot Rod Ranch in Lompoc also helped with fabrication and
assembly. Willie Cisneros in Santa Maria did the paint, and finally
Tim of Fast Stripe in Solvang did the lettering.
Hope you and followers of Gassermadness have enjoyed the project.
I've also attached two photos of my next project.
Sincerely,
Dave Miller |
