Enclosed is a pic of my "work-in-progress" street gasser '55. It originally was built-up in the mid-'60's running a 409 4-speed. It has sat outside behind a barn since 1974. The "jacked-up" look is from welded spindles instead of a straight axle, which was common around this area. The 409 was long gone when I bought it 3 years ago. It currently runs a truck version 409 that has THE same chrome valve covers that were on the car in the '60's ! I've added other period-correct parts as well. I have so much fun with the car the way it is, it might be awhile before it gets "done". It just takes time & money.
