~ Dan Lockwood's '55 Chevy Nomad Gasser ~

Hi Byron:

The new project as I said yesterday is a '55 Nomad with the '60s look. I'll itemize a few of the higher points below.

1. No front bumper (very important for the right look)
2. Gray 5 spokes on front and gray 15"x10" steelies on the rear
3. B.F. Goodrich Drag Radials (not quite the right look, but very good tires)
4. Beck Racing Engines 540 ci BBC, Merlin block, Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads, Crane Cams hydraulic flat tappet cam,Victor Sr. intake and Speed Demon 850 cfm carb
5. 4L80E O/D brand new trans with TCI T-Com controller and a TCI Streetfighter 3,500 rpm stall lockup converter
6. Ford 9" with 4.11 & Detroit Locker
7. Chassisworks Pro Street Ladder Bars with urethane bushing and leaf spring slider brackets
8. Stock interior except for color, gray waffle and black accent
9. Chassisworks 8 point roll bar
10. Vintage A/C & Defrost (my wife says A/C or her she's gone)
11. Stock instrumentation
12. Yellow body color

Oh, I forgot the front end.

13. Tube front axle chrome plated with leaf springs, Vega style steering box, disc brakes and power booster/master cylinder combo

That's about it for starters. I've replaced the floors with 2 piece replacement panels. The front frame has been cut off at the front body mount and I've spliced on 2"x4" frame rails and have a new front crossmember for the core support. The trans is getting a stage II shift kit right now.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. I'll keep you posted as I progress with the Nomad.

Thanks again.

Dan Lockwood
